How Sugar came to be...

There was a woman who dreamed of owning a sex toy shop.

She wanted to work in a place where people from all kinds of backgrounds, sexual orientations and genders could celebrate their sexualities. Where people could learn about sex. Where sex would be honored as something both powerful and good. A place where other people who felt passionate about sexuality could work together. Where myth busting and honesty would be the norm.
And where she could wear whatever she wanted to work.

One day, her partner, who knew her dream, looked at her and said,
“Honey, why don’t we open a sex toy store?”

After coming up with fifty million reasons why it wouldn’t be possible, she started jumping up and down and clapping her hands.
And Sugar was born.

So, in March of 2007, Sugar opened it’s doors in Baltimore, and they’ve been spreading the sex positive message ever since.
